About us

Clocknext's origin story

We’re building billing infrastructure native to the agentic economy. As legacy providers adapt, Clocknext redefines how billing should work from the ground up.

What makes Clocknext special?

For 16 years, pricing software was a solved problem.

From my time at Zoho starting in 2010 to building companies of my own, most pricing conversations opened the same way: how do you charge for this? The answer was usually short. Per user. Sometimes per workflow, per email, per gigabyte, per transaction. Pick a unit of value, put a price on it, build plans around it, forecast from there. You could hold the whole thing in your head.

Then AI happened.

As head of AI transformation at Medibuddy, I was meeting two to three AI companies a day. Voice agents, document intelligence, internal copilots. I kept asking the question I had been answering for 16 years: how do you charge? This time the answers were all over the place. Credits. Usage-based. A wallet customers buy into. Per outcome. But this was the one that stuck with me the most:

“We're still figuring it out.”

These were people who knew their business inside out, navigating territory nobody had mapped. AI had changed the economics sitting under pricing, and the old models no longer held.

Traditional SaaS gave you a cost structure you could predict. Sell a seat at $50 a month and you could estimate what serving it would cost for the next year. An AI product doesn't work that way. A customer runs 10 tasks today and 10,000 tomorrow on the same contract. One request costs a fraction of a cent. The next fans out into several model calls, a retrieval step, two tool calls, or a 200-page document. Your provider cost moves with the intelligence each customer consumes, and it moves without asking you first.

The more of these conversations I had, the clearer it got that this is not a pricing problem. Pricing is a decision you make on a whiteboard in an afternoon. This is the plumbing that has to hold that decision up afterward. Metering, rating, wallets, invoices, and a live read on what delivery actually cost.

That is what we are building Clocknext for.

Our values

What we hold ourselves to

Deliver world-class experiences

We don’t take a single interaction for granted. Whether we’re building a product, solving a problem, or helping customers, we bring care and attention to getting it right.

Stay honest and accountable

We speak openly, keep our word, and take responsibility for our choices. When we fall short, we own it, learn from it, and make things right.

Innovate and grow relentlessly

We question old beliefs, learn from every outcome, and keep raising the bar. Growth comes from constant movement, staying curious, and never settling for what already works.

Vijayanand Kailash

Founder and CEO

Vijay has spent over 16 years in tech across Zoho, MediBuddy, and his own startups, working on both sides of the pricing table: building pricing strategies for his own products and helping AI founders shape theirs.

He saw a clear shift in pricing economics as AI entered the picture. The traditional pricing playbook was becoming outdated, and the tools supporting it weren’t built for the way AI products are created, consumed, or monetized.

So he set out to simplify it. He deconstructed the complex infrastructure behind modern pricing and billing and built Clocknext, a purpose-built platform for founders building AI-native products.
